What is Docalysis?
Docalysis is an AI-powered platform that answers any question you have about your documents. Simply upload a PDF, TXT, CSV, or DOCX file and let Docalysis analyze it for you. Then have a conversation with Docalysis to get answers to your questions. Docalysis is a great tool for financial analysts, lawyers, accountants, scientists, and anyone else who needs to analyze documents.
How much does it cost?
Docalysis is free to use, with additional features and limits available on a paid plan. Visit the plans page to learn more about the different plans.
What languages are supported?
Docalysis understands a lot of different languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Indonesian, Hindi, Urdu, and more. To use another language, start a chat in that language with the AI, and it should switch over automatically.
How can I chat with multiple files at once?
To chat with multiple files at once, simply move multiple files into a folder, then right click to chat with that folder. It's that simple!
What's the maximum file size I can upload?
On the free plan, users can upload files up to 5 MB. With a paid plan, users can upload files up to 50 MB.
Are my documents private?
Yes, by default, your documents are only available to you, unless you choose to make them publicly available.
What file types are supported?
Docalysis supports PDFs, TXTs, and CSV files.
Can I share documents with others?
After you choose to make a file publicly available, you can share its link with others to allow them to ask questions of it.
Can I embed documents on my website so others can chat with it?
Yes, when you choose to make a file publicly available, you can get embed code to share it on your website or blog. This works similarly to embedding a YouTube video or Twitter tweet, for example. Visit the embed page to learn more.
Do you offer batch processing of many files, output to a CSV?
Yes, Docalysis is able to do batch processing. The way this works is you'd send us hundreds or thousands of files via a cloud storage service like OneDrive or Google Drive, and give us the questions you want to ask. Where is Docalysis based?
Docalysis is an American startup based in Mountain View, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Where are my documents securely stored?
Your documents are stored with Amazon S3, which is a highly secure and encrypted cloud storage service.
What is the retention policy on my uploaded documents?
By default, documents are stored indefinitely. You can delete a document manually at any time. If you need a specific retention policy, please contact us.
Is Docalysis SOC 2 compliant?
We are currently engaged in attaining SOC 2 compliance, and can provide an engagement letter from our SOC 2 compliance provider for customers that require it.
How long does it take to work?
Uploading your document should take a few seconds, and then another few seconds of preprocessing in order to answer your questions effectively. After that, simply ask Docalysis a question and it will respond in a few more seconds.
How accurate are the answers?
The answers are surprisingly accurate. Docalysis' AI is trained on billions of lines of text, so it has a lot of knowledge to draw from. Modern AI has advanced to the point where it can answer questions with practically human-level intelligence.
Does Docalysis use ChatGPT for files?
Yes, Docalysis is currently powered by ChatGPT and uses it to answer questions about your documents. Docalysis preprocesses your documents and figures out what context is more relevant to your questions, then it uses ChatGPT on the PDF file's relevant context to determine the answer.
Does Docalysis have an API?
Yes, you can read more about the Docalysis API at its API documentation page. The API lets you upload and chat with files programmatically, so you can integrate Docalysis into your own processes. You can get an API key at your API keys page.
Can I use Docalysis to have an AI chat with financial documents like 10-Ks?
Yes, Docalysis is great at having AI-powered answers for financial documents. In fact, we have a whole library of 10-K documents for you to try out at the Docalysis 10-K report library.

How many credits does one document chat message use?
Each chat message uses 1 credit. You are not charged for messages that result in warnings or errors.
How do a plan's monthly credits refresh?
Your plan credits refresh on a monthly basis, depending on when you purchased a paid plan (or when you created your account for free plans). For example, if you subscribed to the Plus plan on the 11th of the month, your plan credits would refresh to 500 credits every month on the 11th day. Since not all months have the same number of days, if your refresh day would be the 29th, 30th, or 31st of any month, it instead is the 28th of that month.
What happens if I use up my monthly credits?
Once you've consumed all your plan credits in a month, you will either have to wait for the next month, upgrade plans, or purchase bonus credits. Bonus credits are only consumed once you've already used up all of that month's plan credits.
What does page upload / month mean?
You are limited to uploading a certain number of new pages in any given monthly period. For example, if you are on the Plus plan, you can upload 3,000 pages every monthly period. The amount of new pages you can upload resets every monthly period. If you need to upload more pages than your limit, you can either upgrade plans or purchase bonus credits for uploading beyond your limit.
How do bonus credits work?
If you need to use more than your plan limit in a monthly period, you can purchase bonus credits. Bonus credits are only consumed once you've already used up all of that month's plan credits. For example, if you've exhausted all your monthly question credits or uploaded the maximum number of pages per month, you can purchase bonus credits.
What's the benefit of yearly plans?
By paying for the full year upfront, you get an overall discount. If you know you'll want to use Docalysis on an ongoing basis, this is the best option.
What can the Business plan do for my company?
The Business plan is intended for companies, and offers features including team-wide storage, team administration, and custom limits. Contact us to learn more about the Business plan.
Can I change my subscription plan later?
Yes, you can change your subscription plan after first purchasing one. Changing paid subscriptions takes effect immediately, and you will be charged or credited the difference in price.
Can I cancel my subscription plan at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription plan at any time. To cancel, visit the plan page, then click the button to cancel and downgrade to the free plan. At the end of your current billing period, you will be downgraded to the free plan.
What happens to my files when I downgrade?
You will keep all your existing files if you downgrade, but you may not be able to upload new files if it would put you over your new storage limit. In that case, you'd have to first delete some existing files to make room for new files.
Does Docalysis store my credit card information?
Your credit card information is not stored directly by Docalysis. It is stored by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe is a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1, which is the highest grade of payment processing security. If you have purchased a subscription, you can manage your credit card information by going to your user settings and clicking the link to your Stripe account's dashboard.
